Re: adjust fuel enrichment

The lda works the other way around as in it limits off boost fuel Surely it richens on-boost fueling, than limits off boost. In its 'passive' state the LDA is not doing anything, and only operates when pressurised from the turbo which in turn triggers the additional fueling for boost power. I.e if ...

Re: PDM60 power distribution module

All switches are signal wires, can do complex switching arrangements by software, very little changes of electrical fires as unit should be fitted near battery so all power wire is minimal. Might be misunderstanding you, but don't think this unit is the same or can do that. One wire tells the unit ...

Re: PDM60 power distribution module

My mate has one on his bike, he really likes it. My personal opinion is they are an expensive way to reinvent the wheel. A simple secondary fuse block can be bought for a few quid and the subsequent wiring and maintenance are just the same if not simpler. If you like a visual of which fuse has blown...

Re: Stubborn screws - how to get them out?

I'd also try a touch a touch of heat if it's really seized. I use a micro blowtorch (the ones used for kitchen stuff) to heat the screw/bolt head and obviously be careful of surrounding area. Then squirt more release spray into it and tap gently with a hammer on the back of the screwdriver. It all h...

Re: Dash board

You could try plastidip paint.

Easy to apply as a spray can and build up a good few coats for a hard wearing coating which will peel off when you come to remove it. Also dries to a matt finish so should give the look you're after by the sounds of it.

Yep, that's what I had to do too when I fitted mine. The Wiki article about aligning the gears helper a lot.

Re: Tv in bus

how exactly is a cheaply produced tiwaneese 240vac trasformer going to be more stable than a battery?? Not stable, I said regulated. As CovKid said, auto electrics operate more within a range, rather than a fixed 12v, so yes a transformer (regardless of origin) will be better suited. Like I say, it...

Re: Tv in bus

Does the TV have an external transformer I.e. a 'brick' on the cable. If so some people have found the output voltage of the brick is 12v DC and had success simply cutting off the brick and wiring the positive and negative wires (correctly) to a cigarette lighter adapter. This is hit and miss as you...

Oh wait, somebody wrote investment ... If your van is a commodity, there lies the reason for the twitching. A dig at my post I presume. Any classic vehicle is an investment if looked after and is the right model. But that's not the main reason I got it. Primarily I fundametally like them, end of. I...

Re: just bought a '90 T25 need advice

Look at the westy owners twitching.. :D It's only a bit of vinyl and wood. It's not always all about value, it's always about the owners choice. Lol, to be honest if it gets ruined it does me a favour as mine becomes an even rarer example :D It's not about being twitchy, just don't want to see some...

Re: just bought a '90 T25 need advice

Unfortunately if you want a van to customise you've picked the wrong one imo. The Atlantic is the flagship model in some people's eyes (only around a 1000 made and becoming a rare version of the westy). They are going up in value every year, and so for a van you want to customise may have been bette...

Re: Strip light replacement

The more I looked into this I'm sticking with the fluorescent tubes. The benefit of LED is mainly power usage, and the saving in power is minimal over tubes (7W vs 4W last time I looked) and I prefer the colour temperature of the tubes. Each to their own though, you just have to weigh up why you wan...

Re: Toying with the idea, whats the benefits?

Am I understanding that right 10% increase high speed? I think I do like the idea :) The theory is faster top speed, less acceleration. It doesn't always work like that in practice though. With any alteration in final gearing (which a wheel size is part of), the engine power may need to increase to...
