Re: Zig unit not charging leisure battery
Thanks for that, very helpful. So, good charge of the leisure battery and go from there. We'll see.

Zig unit not charging leisure battery
I have this charging unit: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b337/Sciroccology/Sciroccology035/DSC_2401_15433_zps0d91f900.jpg Which, up until recently, has been as good as gold. However, it no longer appears to be charging the leisure battery. When the engine is running, there is a clicking sound co...

If it was quick to remove, any passing oik would be off and away in your camper
Thank you.

Re: Lost headlights, wipers and heater fan!
Fair enough - you'll probably need something like this then ...... https://www.vwheritage.com/shop/111905865LR/ignition-switch-mk1-2-golf-t1-bug-t2-bay-t25/ That's the fella! How the hell do I get the old one out though? (You can probably see the screwdriver marks in my picture where I tried...)

Re: Lost headlights, wipers and heater fan!
It's definitely that switch. Wiggling the black connector that attaches to it, or wiggling the ignition key got everything working - that says to me that it's something between the two.

Lost headlights, wipers and heater fan!
Fiddling around sorting out the stereo, I (somehow) managed to lose power to the lights, wipers and fan. Traced the fault to this, at the other end of the ignition barrel from the key: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b337/Sciroccology/Sciroccology031/DSC_1853_14938_zps455819e1.jpg I knew it was th...

Re: propex vents
I don't know if this helps or not (probably not) but our propex heater (under the bed) has two vents but only one is connected to the heater output.

Ah, thanks. I am familiar with things under the binnacle - I found a brake fluid reservoir there, of all places!

Brake light sensitivity
Is there any way of adjusting the brake light switch, so that the lights come on with a lighter press of the pedal? I've recently fitted some new LED bulbs and I had a problem with the driver's side brake light not working. I think I've sorted it now (corroded connection) but trying to test it is im...

Anyone know anything about electric windows?
The previous owner fitted electric motors to the front windows, using (if I remember rightly) BMW units. The driver's side one has now developed a reluctance to close properly without a bit of manual assistance. It'll go so far up, then stop accompanied by a "ratchety" noise if you keep th...

Re: The little blue light.
Sorry, should have done a search but thanks for the replies. I'm sure I've got a blue LED lying around somewhere - might wire that up.
Cheers.

The little blue light.
You know the one - the one that tells you that you've left your main beam on, that one. Well mine's either blown, or it's just too dim to see (even in the dark) and now that I have festooned the front with all the lights Ebay had to offer, I need to know when they're on or not. Is it a replaceable p...
