Re: South African T25
Rather late to this but when turned of by the key the two lights will be on at the time. If it’s the same immobiliser as by 92 one was, it’s behind the glove box and pulling the plugs from it will bypass it. Remote central locking will be disabled as well.

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
I was just going to solder to the pads but I guess you could use an edge connector permanently fixed to the board.

Re: Rust & the 'Ministry of Transport' test
Steps shoudn't be a fail, maybe an advisory.
On my previous van I pop-rivetted some ally sheet over the holes in the steps, no problems at MOT time.

Re: Ignition lock and switch
The click from the fuse area is likely to be the x-circuit load reduction relay which turns headlights etc off when starting the engine.

Re: Is it terminal ?!!
As above, I did something similar on a Renualt TD when I tried to move it with the alternator unbolted and resting on top of the engine. It fell down and jammed the timing belt...
I felt very idiotic.
Complete new head and valves in my case but the engine was under power at the time.

Re: Welding in Warwick
These things are easily done, years ago I drove my MGB away with the crooklock still on which meant that I couldn't steer or brake...
Also filled the van up with lpg and drove off with the hose still attached which led to a pump out of commission and a bent panel on the van.

If profile isn't stated then its 80 or 82 per cent. Use 80 for tyre size searches.
