Re: Baby No3 - seating issues.
I have a viking camper that came with a rear facing fold up buddy seat with a lap belt. When child 4 came along I got a front bench seat and welded on a reclining mechanism from another seat as the bench seat backs are designed to lean against the bulkhead. I then fitted a center lap belt and had th...

Re: air sanders
Hi, I use both types and personally find the palm sander more comfortable to use. 70mm sanders are great for small jobs, but if you are doing the whole van i would stick with a 150mm.

Its best to avoid RAL when having wheels refurbed and choose a colour from the samples from whoever you are using.

Re: 6th seat - is it even possible?
Mine is not a Westy but I have 6 seat belts.
2 on the rock and roll bed, a lap belt on the rear facing buddy seat, and a modified bench seat in the front with a lap belt in the middle using the original seat belt points.

Re: bearings
The Haynes manual has some good clear instructions. I have found it useful for torque settings etc.

Re: Movement in front bearings?
Problem sorted. I have learned that it is good to check you have the correct parts when fitting them.
The bearings were supplied wrong, the outer (small bearing) was too big for the stub axle.
Thanks for the replies people.

Re: Movement in front bearings?
You did assemble them the correct way round? I managed to fit some [in a 1972 bay] back to front!! Yes I am sure I did, I will remove them and check as soon as I get time. Check the wheels for play. If there is none, you have a caliper issue. There is no play but not sure it is a caliper fault as i...

Re: Movement in front bearings?
Yes, I replaced inner and outer bearings and they were pushed all the way home.
Will take them off and double check everything.
Thanks for your replies.

Movement in front bearings?
Hello advise needed please. Both front wheel bearings were getting a bit noisy so I decided to renew them. Since changing the bearings the brake pedal has had long travel after cornering. I did a few circles in the yard and took off the front wheels to check. The pads have been knocked back by the d...

Thanks for the help and offer of photos. I think the strut just slides in the lower channel. I will try to make something and see how it goes.

Viking pop top gas struts.
Hello,
I have a unfinished project viking pop top. I was fitting the gas struts to the top, the outer two were easy to work out but I'm not sure how the middle one fits at the bottom.
Any advice or even some pics would be great.
Thanks
Steve
