In 5spd gearbox 1-st and backward gears uses same coupling, so probably you should replace it. Friend of mine had same issue couple days before.

Mea culpa, english is not mine first language so I've mistaken in translation.

Take Volt-Ohm meter and choose 20V DC, then place probes on battery contacts. When engine is off, it should be around 12.7, then switch on engine (voltage should drop down) and than, when alternator starts to work, it should be over 13.7-14 V.

I have 1.9D engine (1Y), but exhaust system is from 1.6D.
As far as I know, 1.9 have 50mm pipes but 1.6 have 40mm. Could it cause additional pressure and give additional vibration?
