Re: Westfalia 1989 Electrolux RM 184 EGI doesn’t work at all?
Most 12v circuits on fridges are set up to operate while the engine is running, fed from the alternator via a voltage sensing relay, I think. I’m afraid I’m not familiar with the specific setup of westy lectrics, but I’d try on gas too.

Re: Hazard switch wiring help
Do your hazards work? Also, wiring diagrams are available on the syncrosport website, and it’s well worth learning how to read them as often the wiring in our vans has been messed about with over the years. A photo of the wires? The button above let’s you add pics… https://i.imgur.com/lLs6cfw.jpeg

Re: Still Smoking under load
Looking at your previous posts, it’s blue/white smoke, so oil and water?
Oil from the turbo bearing (which is a plain bearing supplied with copious amounts of oil) leaking into the exhaust and burning off with the heat of the exhaust.

Good spot. You’ve bought a van with a recent respray.
I wonder what it’s hiding…
Good luck!

Re: Another 3-way fridge problem
Tyre pressure on our Rapido poptop (800kgs) is 3 bars or approx 45psi. I reckon mid 30's (approx 2 bars) is too low for a twin axle. More like 50-55psi for stability. Less than double the weight, but (depending on relative tyre size) double the contact area on the road. So to my mind that means a l...

You were asking about trolley jacks, a few of us use SGS 3 tonne trolley jacks I have https://www.sgs-engineering.com/garage-equipment/trolley-jacks/tj3-garage-3-ton-trolley-jack but it’s out of stock. Very heavy, but why would you want to carry it. There’s also https://www.sgs-engineering.com/tj3x-...

Re: Another 3-way fridge problem
That’s a lot for under 3k.
I remember collecting a twin axle number from York to tow it to aviemore. Gave me kittens until I worked out the previous owner had inflated the tyres as if it was a single axle. Dropping from 60psi to 30 made for a much more well mannered drive…

You’ve bought a shed on wheels? Slipped in as a minor confession?
I think you should post a photo and fully abase yourself…

Re: Rear jacking points shot?
It looks like what is left is still pretty thin, I’d see about taking it back to shiny metal. My gut would say just a flat patch first, then the repair plate, positioning doesn’t need to be millimetre perfect in this instance.

Re: Head gasket replacement
I’ve not used any garages here for my van, but I’d recommend Budget Auto Centre at Back o’Hill ind est as honest and straightforward to deal with. Worth talking to anyway. There’s a place in Alloa I think as well that does restorations, I’ll look and see what I can find about them. If you want a han...
