Re: Strange knocking sound

I had a similar knocking noise you describe, that frustrated the hell out of me for over a year. Again only when cornering. Changed CV joints, springs and shocks hoping it would cure it but no....... Driving home from work one night and the knocking developed into a worrying continuous scraping nois...

Similar symptoms with ours, a few years back.
One of the toughest calls I've ever had to make.
Sincere sympathy to you and all your family.

Re:(mis-diagnosed) Trigger wire replacement

Thought I would update you all regarding my starter woes….. Managed to find someone fairly local to try and re-condition my starter. Unfortunately the 30+ year old starter was beyond repair, so fitted a new one today. Cleaned up all the connections first and she started up like new. 🤞that has resolv...

The grey wire is for parking lights...
12 volts when key removed.

That explains why I was getting continuity with the key out of ignition

Re: Trigger wire replacement

Quick update…. Managed to rule out a couple of things today. Ignition switch tested and working fine. ( what does the grey wire do?) I have continuity also from ignition to solenoid trigger wire. (Would still like to run new cable back to somewhere behind the dash but it is not as simple as first th...

Re: Trigger wire replacement

Thank you for your replies. Once again I have jumped in with both feet without being methodical, thinking that I know what the fault is. I will try a few tests at the weekend and see if I can locate the problem. How would I test the ignition switch? Regarding the starter relay, I have no doubt it wo...

(Mis-diagnosed )Trigger wire replacement

It has been a little while since I last asked for help.... I recently broke down after a long drive, with the trigger wire spade connector being the likely culprit. Tried to start her up for the return journey and got nothing. (Battery was good  12.76 v) This happened a few years back but managed to...

Update……
New Lemforder bushes in and just got back from a good hours run with no squeak. Seems to have cured it so thank you for your help in sorting.

Re: Speedo cable replacement

Thank you for this  :ok Changed mine at the weekend and thought I knew best? wrong....for some reason I had it in my head that the hub had to be removed to gain access through the wheel. Thankfully saw this post for the instruction on getting the cable through. Soooo simple. I worked from the dash e...

Re: Upper wishbone bush

I've seen a few videos of camber set up, so ill give it a try, even if it is a little rough around the edges. Am I looking to get the spirit bubble dead centre?
I've also changed some of the other bushes lately so a garage alignment is on the horizon anyway.
Thanks

Re: Upper wishbone bush

Yes...pretty sure I got them from GSF before understanding the importance of quality parts, about a year into owning the van. Both sides are welded, but just the drivers side has the squeak. You have confirmed what I was thinking but reassuring for a 2nd opinion. I will order 4 from brickwerks, Lemf...

Upper wishbone bush

I have a very intermittent squeaky drivers side suspension noise. I believe I have narrowed it down to the upper wishbone area. Plastered it in silicon grease but no difference, then removed it completely, cleaned it up and put it all back together. The bushes looked pretty good visually with no rea...

Re: alternator light not working

I'll jump on the back of this if i can.... I also had similar issues this weekend with the alternator not charging the battery, but having read this and a couple of other threads from you knowledgable lot I managed to get it sorted. Having spent most of Saturday trying to sort, ordering a voltage re...
