Just used my van to move a gate post
A tiny error in judgement has resulted in a rather impressive hole on the rear wing (passenger side / sliding door). http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/23/5edy9ysa.jpg So a question: fixable with filler, or replace the whole panel? Oh and the gate post will die at the hands of an angle grinder at the w...

Re: Autosleeper zig unit help
Ooooh and could I be clever and wire it in such a way that it went thru my split relay (on tag 86) so that it could charge both the crank and leisure battery as required?
Or would that result in a fiery death?

Autosleeper zig unit help
Holy Thread Resurrection Batman!!!
I have that same 'autosleeper control panel' in my van.
Can it be used / rewired to charge my crank & leisure batteries when I'm on mains hook up? Or is it only zigs that do that?
Ta

Re: I need a hug, and possibly a new engine
Doh missed that post. In the mean time I'm sorted now by 'VWMagicBus' on eBay. £650 with all ancillaries and ready to drop in.
If you need one they've got a couple more, plus lots of other T25 stuff.

Re: I need a hug, and possibly a new engine
Lucky in that I've found recon engines that will part x for mine.
Unlucky that they will cost £1100 plus fitting.
Unless I just get one from eBay / scrap yard, but I don't won't to do that cos I need (some) reliability

Re: I need a hug, and possibly a new engine
Yaaaaay!! Just had a call from the Garage and it seems that our engine isn't economically viable to repair, and that we should get a new one.

I need a hug, and possibly a new engine
I had the buzzer of doom this morning. 'Oh no' I thought, 'the oil pressure switch must be faulty, it won't be the engine'. But I pulled over anyway. Engine cut out as soon as I put it into neutral, and then wouldn't restart. Actually it wouldn't even turn over on the starter and it smelt really bad...

Seizing door handles
So my passenger door handle has broken, the little lever inside has snapped. Not a problem really as I bought a new one at Dubfreeze to replace it. But then ... Today my driver side door handle started sticking, the lever stuck in the pulled position with meant I couldn't unlock the door. So, I'll p...

Re: Suspected brake binding ... and what to do about it
Ok that sounds potentially expensive. If the piston is rusty is it fair to assume that all 4 are rusty along with the pipe work?

Re: Suspected brake binding ... and what to do about it
Had the calliper off today. Brake pads and disk look fine, hardly any wear at all. But the outside surface of the calliper piston was showing surface rust.
I guess I'll be needing a new one then!
