Replacement Roof
Hi All We have a hard top on our van but are looking to convert it back to a side elevating pop top, I've spent a lot of time looking on line but can't seem to find anyone who does new roofs. Found plenty that can repair and some that do tops that lift at front with hinge at back. Anyone know anybod...

Re: Cooling issues - am I missing something?
Well after going through everything you suggested I'm a lot happier now. Even tho the gauge is reading 2/3 across the fan kicks in and out. I stuck my thermocouple to the rad near the fan switch and the fan came on about 78C, obviously cooled down then went off. Like you say Oldiebut Goodie a good r...

Re: Cooling issues - am I missing something?
I also think it's not over heating as I've got no leaks anywhere and the dalek cap isnt passing water, maybe I'm a little over worried as we're driving nearly 400 miles in her next weekend

Re: Cooling issues - am I missing something?
Thanks for the info. Yes I did test the fan by putting a link in the plug so we know that's ok. I shall read this again in the morning and work through it, I have a temp meter with a thermocouple lead on it so I will tape or tie it to somewhere to check temp, don't know why I didn't think of that,pr...

Cooling issues - am I missing something?
Hi Got a DG 1.9 petrol, end of last year the temp gauge was reading all over the place, traced it to sender. Replaced sender but the gauge reading high, fans not coming on even tho it sits on drive ticking over. Tested fans,Ok. Changed sender again, fan & thermostat. Fan still not coming on even...

Villiers 250
Should this be in technical? :) Its an engine problem but I dont know much about them. I've got a Bond minicar with a villiers 250 engine and I have a little problem. Every now and then engine starts to rev really high as if the throttle is stuck. I've had the cable off and its free as a bird so I'm...

Re: Alternator Troubles
I do have basic knowledge but I am also new to all this engine malarky so not sure as yet the specific type but its times like this when you start to learn quickly. I didn't realise there was so many different types of engine, I will look into mine more closely. And also after a slight panic comes a...

Re: Alternator Troubles
I'm pretty sure its not the water pump, ours is on the left of the crankshaft and the alternator on the right and the noise is definitely coming from there. I'm almost 100% its the alternator. We're coming over from Fishbourne to Portsmouth. Had a look at the partco link and its not far from the doc...

Alternator Troubles
I've had a look about for similar topics on this but cant seem to find anything. Pulling off the campsite tonight our Betty suddenly started making a loud rattling noise, after a quick look it seems to be coming from the alternator. I'm assuming its charging as the light is off and the pulley seemed...

Re: drive away awning
Hi I'm assuming that you're using the gutter with the figure of 8 bit. We first tried that as well but it would come off in the slightest of breezes. We ended up fixing a length of awning rail on our high top about 6 inches above the gutter. If you have a pop top there is an older thread somewhere i...
