Re: French VW Bus Meeting 2014 in Fley (71) / Burgundy / France
I have attended the first two meetings. Second one with Pete & Sharon and we had a great time and excellent weather. Seems to be getting more professional now, more syncro stuff which is great. It's on a nice meadow with the lovely town just a couple of miles away. Really worth while, best combi...

Re: One for the nerds - retardation relay?
Out of Curiosity I tried to look this up. I have the original VW folder with ALL electrical diagrams from 1979-1991. I checked the relay positions and diagrams for 1988 and can't find anything. Position no.4 on the relay board is unused, on petrol as well as on diesel. Do you have a vw part number f...

Re: Set of syncro spats on ebay
Oh yes, sorry, I meant the mudflaps at Günzl classic parts. I looked at the German ad from Winkler, it says in the text these are fibreglass replicas without the studs (not what it shows in the picture!) and they are supposed to be glued onto the car.

Well, 7500 euros is a little over 10.000 dollars. Asking 20.000.. just seems odd, no?

Re: 2.1 DJ Doka lost it's spark - head scratcher!
Clean the earth connections under the M6 bolt on the left cylinder head. The M6 bolt might snap off, but there is another M6 threat right next to it. Usually lots of corrosion here, so bad ground connection. One of these wires is hooked up to your distributor.

Re: 2.1 DJ Doka lost it's spark - head scratcher!
Hi,
I've had the same problem on my dad's van, also a 2.1 petrol. It turned out is was the hall sender inside the distributor! After I located one I changed it over and it has been running fine ever since.
Cheers

Re: Adventure Overland Show 28-29 September
Simon, I haven't booked my ferry yet. If Hoek of Holland -Harwich is cheaper I'll book the same one if possible. Usually I get the Dunkirk-Dover one. For Busfest this was 58 euro's round trip, an almost unbeatable price! I saw on the overland website I can just show up and buy a camping and entrance...
