Re: AAZ engine starting behaviour.. Lumpy, smoky. Fuel pump?
My first port of call was glow plugs, this made no difference,I had no power loss issues and it started every time but was taking longer and longer as the weeks went by, my first inclination that something was seriously wrong was that the the tickover was getting lower and lower. I spoke to someone ...

Check you crankshaft pullley.
if the keyway starts disintegrating it messes up the timing, then some serious "pooh" happens.
it sounds very much like the symptoms I have just had and that was what it was!

Heater fan fault
Is there any way of determining whether it's the resistor or the fan at fault?
The switch seems good,
Many thanks Rob.

Re: insulation - the what and what nots
You'll save a lot of money by NOT looking for auto specific insulation which are in my view substandard compared to the above. I think someone mentioned it was around £50 to do the whole van with Palziv and its the same type of stuff as modern cars use, a Volkzone member used it on their beetle and...

Palziv 8mm self adhesive closed cell foam is supposed to be both very good and very cheap.

Re: Adventure Overland Show - who's coming?
Sadly I'm not going to be able to make it. I have a meeting Saturday morning which I can't get out of and its hardly worth coming all that way for one night. My ticket is in the for sale section at a discounted price if anyone's interested.

clutch change price
Was just wondering what people pay to get a clutch changed at a garage, We just had the hire van done and they only charged me £144, which I thought was very reasonable. I supplied the clutch kit of course, but I wouldn't have done it for that...
