The glorious smell of petrol
OK - so on a recent trip out we smelled the heady aroma of petrol on our (new to us) 1984 van. I'm guessing that the culprit is a breather hose to the expansion tanks as the smell was pretty strong up front and more so with a window down and head stuck outside but have set about today to remove/repl...

Re: Autosleeper split charge, is this the relay?
Quick question then, does this mean that both the reds that are on the battery currently should go via the relay? Also the control panel is powered directly from the starter via the blue fused wire, should that then go via the relay and if so which pin? Think im slightly getting the idea of how thi...

Re: Autosleeper split charge, is this the relay?
If you have connected the Leisure battery directly to the Main battery (without using a relay), then the Main battery will continue to be discharged when you use electrical items in your camper (i.e. lights, water pumps etc) - you need the relay in place to disconnect the Main battery from the Leisu...

Re: Wiring Block under Dash (Steering wheel side)
Had a quick look in the electrical schematics in the Haynes manual and it looks like your mystery connector could be the T4 connector (which Haynes has identified as being used by the Radio - although obviously if you have any sort of more modern radio it may have been wired in using alternative wir...

Re: Central Locking Sliding Door Wiring
Thanks - still having fun with the 'fishing' exercise trying to get the wires around the door frame - failed with stiff garden wire, gotta think of some other way of coaxing a wire around the frame from the dash area to the door pillar.

Tame Welder in Ashford, Middlesex area?
Anyone know of (or is) a good welder in the Ashford, Middlesex area (note that is Middlesex, not our more famous cousin in Kent!!) Have discovered some fairly drastic front wheel arch rust on new (to us) van and it's going to need attention before next MOT! (and to prevent nasty draft up the drivers...

Re: Central Locking Sliding Door Wiring
Thanks all; Looks like I'll be 'fishing' with some wire in the New Year!! Also, thanks for pics of the contact plate thingy - I've only managed to find a more basic version on eBay (that looks like it might work but doesn't look great quality) - anyone got any info on sourcing the original (at a rea...

Central Locking Sliding Door Wiring
Anyone got a fancy way of getting the wiring from the dashboard area to the sliding door area? I think the only sensible way is up the passenger door frame pillar and then down again on the other side - but I can't see an 'easy' way of doing this?? Anyone tried this and found an easy way of getting ...

Sliding Door closing with a 'crash'
Hi - proud owner of a 1984 T25 (just got it a few weeks ago) Busy poking around to see what is what!! Lurking on Club8090 has already become a bit of an obsession!! So, my first question - when I close the sliding door, at the final stage where it latches it sounds like a metal-on-metal crash (rathe...
