Re: Alternative engine overload.....
Thanks Syncroandy.
Have you fitted a GTI previously?
What is the best one to fit?
I have just had a flick around on ebay and very few Mk 3 GTi with sensible mileage currently out there.

Alternative engine overload.....
I have been trawlling the forums and internet and have become a bit overwhelmed. So I have come back to my trusted source; you helpful people of CLub 80 90, who have helped me get out of some oily mangled metal, rusty, burnt out wiring kind of holes over the years. So here goes... I have a 1991 LHD ...

Re: AAZ Exhaust valve snapped?
Thanks, That sounds possible! Would fit with the engine being 'lumpy' on start up. I will take a look. If it has failed what are the chances of sorting this engine? will it be terminal? I knd of guess it is! Update: Visually all looks and feels fine. I cant turn it over by hand so can't be sure the ...

AAZ Exhaust valve snapped?
Hope someone can help advise. My Doka which is my daily driver has been running fine apart from feeling lumpy on start up for the past week or so. I noticed when it was running on tick over this afternoon the exhaust fumes smelt stronger. On driving home the engine started to sound more like a Airco...

Do I need to replace coolant?
My head gaskett went recently on my AAZ and I have just got it all back up and running. As I was topping up the expansion chamber ready to bleed I noticed a lttle bit of scum, which got me thinking.... Should I drain the system and start again? Its not that old as the engine was replaced in the last...

AAZ fuel pump timing
After killing my previous AAZ engine and replacing it with another which also had issues, I have now had the head skimmed and have replaced the gasket. All I now have to do is torque the head bolts correctly (which I am not looking forward to doing the final 90 degree turns ) and sort the timing... ...

AAZ Engine number 2 head gaskett.
I thought my learning curve was going to level out for a bit..... No such luck! So I have found the time to get the spanners out and tackle the head gaskett on my replacement engine, which unfortunately battled me from day one. (See previous post) I have got as far as trying to remove the head bolts...
