Wouldn't the grease alter that?

Re: Hot / restart starting problem
So if I'm reading this right, then Boltze replaced his Auto ECU with a manual one and everything's fine. Whereas Meikel did things the other way round and ended up with a problem. You have the same experience as Boltze. Incidentally I contacted another member who has an autobox and he has a slightly...

Re: Hot / restart starting problem
Hi philthechip, Mine is 2.1 petrol/LPG DJ 1989 auto so pretty much the same as yours I reckon. I've just checked my ECU but can't see a part number without removal, so lets assume that it is the original auto one with the 'E' suffix. I follow your logic totally but don't yet understand why an auto E...

Try this redirection to an ad on the Brick-yard for an ECU http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/t3-21-petrol-parts_topic81418.html?KW=" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (there is a member called Bayvelle on this forum too, probably the same person but haven't seen the same advert...

Re: Which oil?!
Yep we had this too.
Found that a second hand original rocker cover was a far better fit than the new repro one and this fixed the problem.

Re: What happens when you unbolt an ARB bush bracket
Thanks Martin. In fact I think you've already told me this when we met at that pikey do. Its still scary when you're lying there with a few hefty pieces of metal a couple of inches from the end of your nose mostly because I've learnt everything I know about mechanics (which ain't that much) from my ...

Thanks clift_d and Mocki for the upload.
I love Bentleys systematic approach - always gets you where you need to go.
New window seal on order from Brickwerks.
By the way, timthemod - serious comments only?
I think you might be in the wrong place mate!

What happens when you unbolt an ARB bush bracket
Here I am lying under the van (which is not jacked) ratchet in hand unscrewing the bracket to replace the ARB bush.
Suddenly wondering whether the whole of the suspension is about to collapse on top of me when I undo this bolt.
What do you reckon...?

Re: What can I do about sloppy locks
My driver door lock is a bit sloppy.
I have decided to always let myself in through the passenger side.
That way I will gradually even up the wear on the locks (and the floor mats)
Only 22 more years to go until I start letting myself in through the slider...

Try this one.
Cornwall again.
The site itself is not much to write home about but the view and the town are tops.

Re: Stripes for my van!
Hi Macca, Here's a copy of a reply I got when I asked a similar question which maybe helpful - and Sarah's a club member too. Got my stripes through the post after agreeing the design by e-mail. Depends if you know how to apply them, but was much more cost effective than the local sign writers. We h...

Re: Service intervals - time or mileage?
Nice one - that all seems reasonable - thanks. What about final drive oil for auto boxes....I'd guess that hasn't been touched or even checked since the gear box change 70k miles ago! Don't even know what gear oil to use - hard to find that info anywhere All this info could be a good addition to the...

Service intervals - time or mileage?
Our van is purely a summer camping vehicle and does 3-5k miles between April and September and is SORN over the winter. Consequently I do a service every year at around this time. The following are described in the Haynes as extended or or long term service; 1 - Renew air cleaner element 2 - Renew f...
