Cellulose paint thinner on a rag should remover any chemical grease. Then a wipe with a water based cleaner for the final finish.

Re: D pillar air vents and rubber grommets
Pull out the grommet, if any water is present it will drain away. Punch or drill a tiny hole in the grommet and replace, this allows any water to drain away.

Re: Water jacket seal.
Hi, a quick update regarding the leak. After reading the posts regarding a leak like this I decided to give K-seal ago, after all I thought I had nothing to lose. I poured it in and have run the van for around 100 miles, hey presto no more leaking! I am aware that this leak could come back again or ...

Re: Water jacket seal.
Thanks Steve for the invaluable advice. I’m not much of a mechanic myself and don’t have the luxury of a drive or garage so will shop around. I’m looking on the bright side and hoping too have a nice refurbished engine in the spring. It’s lucky it happened now so I can have her fixed over the winter.

I rang for help, when the brake down man came (3 hour wait, another story) he told me the leak was coming from the black se...

I will measure it before I buy but as far as I am aware there are only two available pulleys. Thanks for the measuring link it’s fascinating.

Drive belt for 90a Alternator
Hi guys,
I have recently converted from a 45a alternator to a 90a. According to Brickwerks there are two lengths of belt; 1075 and 1100, which one do I need?

Re: Rust Buying Advice
In my opinion they both look quite typical. i would be more wary of the orange one though because the sealer should not be mouldy. This points to a poor repair using cheap materials so I would be wary as to where else costs have been cut The white one with rust looks to me as though it has had some ...

Re: How much paint
I couldn't comment on the amount of primer because that all depends on the amount of repairs. When you say a full re-spray does that include the roof? In my experience you will need 3 litres mixed paint for two full coats if painting under the roof gutter line (that is 1 litre each side and 1/2 litr...

Re: Questions about prepping/painting
D.A simply means dual action. They usually come with a weight on the rotor which can be adjusted for grinding (heavy rust ) or sanding. When sanding the DA turns in a figure of eight to minimise flat spots, when grinding it revolves like a record player. Useful for removing rust and sanding down for...
