Re: Steering column slid!

Interesting, that sounds promising, although i've tried with a bit of a push and no joy. to me, it looks like everything has slid up from the bearing. Is that still consistent with accident thingy? https://www.bus-ok.de/media/image/product/19829/md/t25-bearing-for-the-lower-steering-column-879-up-to...

Steering column slid!

Whilst trying to line up the steering column housing bracket with my dash after replacing the heater, i managed to be a bit too forceful and the bracket housing, with ignition and stalk set, slide up. it popped out the spacer at the top and revealed the bearing/metal coney thing at the bottom. It wo...

Re: i think my blower is dead, please tell me it isnt

nice - thank you. I seem to have 12v at the fuse holder but no volts/less than 1 at the switch - which makes me think i've got a damaged cable somewhere.

Re: i think my blower is dead, please tell me it isnt

Great idea - i've just done this but with no luck. Although having checked with a multimeter, i'm getting basically no volts at the black/red wire (live i believe based on the diagrams). i think this means there is a chance the issue is not with the blower/resistor? Anyone know which connection bloc...

i think my blower is dead, please tell me it isnt

i recently changed the bulb on the heater panel. in doing so there was some fiddling and prodding with wires. Since this the 20a fuse keeps blowing in our 89 california - the blower had been working perfectly before this, no squeaks or squeal so is there any chance it's not the blower and i'm missin...

Re: Can you check my wiring?

I wondered if anyone might be able to offer advice on my plans too - attempting to reuse some of the existing loom (i.e., the 6mm from the starter to the aux battery.

Re: Westfalia Wiring

So to add an update to our echo chamber of questions - i've just bought a renogy dc to dc charger with a bluetooth module. It has a built in solar controller as well and is £200ish at the moment which seems good value compared to victron dc to dc plus an mppt controller. Although matching blue boxes...

Re: Westfalia Wiring

Yeah - i'll need to do some calculations etc. i think before deciding what to keep/lose. We've also just got a crx50 hence rethinking electrics. Few quick thoughts whilst i'm mid-reading around the subject. whats the consensus on getting rid of the VW switching relay and using a VMS or DC to DC char...

Re: Westfalia Wiring

Thanks for the advice - so, it looks like the previous owner actually just took a line to a USB socket in the dash, so everything else is still of the starter battery i believe!

Re: Westfalia Wiring

Awesome - that all makes perfect sense. There is a cable from the positive to the dash at the moment (not checked where it goes) and the previous owner did suggest he'd already done this.  So now i'm wondering, it does have a manual disconnect thing for the starter battery at the back (TD). https://...

Westfalia Wiring

Maybe better in the electrics section but thought i'd start here. Trying to make sense of our california wiring system whilst removing cabinets for some sound proofing and a few things are confusing me. 1. the relay and a bunch of wiring is properly tucked under the captain seat fixing plate so is r...

having started removing units to upgrade wiring and sound proof i can also confirm it goes under the galvanised sheet.
