Re: High top leaks
Hiya, Thanks for this, but how did you finish off the very front of the high top, where originally, there was a rubber seal? I've put sikkaflex over this area but I even get water seeping out of that over the front of the A posts. Also, how easy is it to take apart the front and back 'flooring'? Th...

Re: High top leaks
Hi Auto sleepers had pop rivets along front and back behind the outer lip of the the seal. These rusted and let the water in. I removed my rivets years ago and replaced with Tiger seal. I also removed the ply 'flooring' inside the roof, front and back, and added sealant inside. I seem to remember t...

Re: High top leaks
[quote="AngeloEvs"]The Autohomes high top is bonded along the gutters only with the front and rear having seals.
I wonder if this is also the case with AutoSleepers?

Re: High top leaks
My gutter was cleaned out by the bodyshop and neatly filled in (it was like yours). Unfortunately, there was still a slight gap between the gutter and the high top (rust developed), so some silicon was put in as a seal. This was not well done, so I've filled my gutter with sikaflex. What you show is...

Re: High top leaks
HI, This is staggering. Three people with AutoSleepers all have the same kind of leak from their high tps , down or along, the A post on the passenger's side! Staggering is not among the words I use when thinking about or trying to solve this leak problem. If it is of any use to you I have a mate w...

Re: High top leaks
HI, autosleeper high tops are known for leaking and rusting the original van roof along the edges Are Autosleepers worse than others and if so why? When installed Auto sleepers hi tops had pop rivets front and back under the rubber trim. Removed mine long ago. Not sure if others had them and that c...

Re: High top leaks
I did my gutters with sikaflex (the recommended one, the exact details of which I can't remember) and it hasn't stopped the ingress. I also filled the gutters considerably, though water can still flow along them. I was thinking that ca £2k would be the cost for doing the high top, so I guess I wasn'...

Re: High top leaks
Well.., I've created a signature which simply states my van type etc. As an Autosleeper high top, I'm utterly perplexed by the leaks I continually have. Saying that, does anyone have a ball park figure on how much it might cost to have the high top lifted, and the bodywork underneath repaired, and t...

Re: High top leaks
I have the same problem with my camper. The high top is a single skin lined with carpeting and there are no tell tale signs in the interior, ie water staining. My skylight is well sealed and my guttering is also well sealed. I don't want to have to lift the top since I think it'll cost too much, so ...

Re: New Distributor or Halls Sensor
Thanks for all of this. Re the sensor from VW Heritage, the garage enquired of them, but they were told that there were none in stock. Interesting? Anyway, it being 5:43 right now, I've emailed this info to the garage and hopefully something can come of it.
Thanks everybody!

Well.., I've sent a message to Brickwerks to ask when the item will be in stock. I hope it won't be too long?
