hay guys, ive just stumbled across this thread, im toying with the thought of a pop top, but the tin top is loads more bad ass! but im planning on living in the van for like nearly a year, soooooo, i think a pop top is for me really. but i dont like how chunky they look, does anyone know of any slim...

hi guys and gals, if i have a 1.6 diesel engine water cooled van, what would be the best engine to upgrade to to get good miles to the gallon with a good pulling power so it wont struggle driving through mountain ranges and blow up on me halfway across the world? ha i've heard of dropping in an engi...

i dont really know what im looking for with regards to quality of parts, dont wana buy a loads of what i think are solid bit to be told there all duds.

which engine should i go for, want good economy, but could do with a bit of power,
planning on a biiiiiiiiiigg road trip starting in europe then beyond. so needs to manage places like the alps.

ive heard a few horror stories about the 1.6 engines blowing up,
is this true of the 1.6 turbos aswel, dont wana fork out a load of money on it if its gona blow up just down the line,
gona be doing alooooooot of miles

Had a few people mention him about connversions. Are you convertin from an Aircooled to water cooled too then?

well the plan is to head to europe then just keep going, plan on being away for a very very long time,
sounds like i might be better off with a 1.9 over the 1.6 turbo

i know its a big job, but be worth doing, just want a good reliable van thats gona set me up for life

yeah that thought had crossed my mind,
but the van does need work as it is, so i guess its average.
