Re: Make Autosleeper Great Again
Hi, excellent work and very helpful thread. Just wondering about the rear wheel arch, was the panel you fitted beneath the black tall panel an inner wheel arch panel? Thanks

Re: MBCamper's Restoration
Thanks for these diagrams - this is much appreciated and very clear. I just need to pluck up the courage to get in there with the cutting disc  maybe in a couple of weeks... Mark Hi, fab thread and great work! I have begun replacing rear arches too and I wondered if you could repost the diag...

Headlights MOT failure
Hi, my van (1982 T25) just failed its mot - fortunately only minor issues. However one of the fails was the direction of headlight beam. I replaced them a couple of years back due to corroded reflectors. Just stock round lights, I think from a Caravelle. The mechanic said the lights I've fitted look...

Re: Question on Sarran1955's twin solex carb tuning video
I took the top off the carb tonight and removed the little brass screw on the side that plugs the fuel passage. I blew through the injection tube using my mouth and wiggled a piece of 0.3mm copper wire in the fuel passage. Horrified to discover hundreds of tiny crystals, What the blithering heck?! F...

Re: Question on Sarran1955's twin solex carb tuning video
Hi, another question on the video - I'm trying to get the carbs set up as best as I can before I put them back on engine so diligently following all the steps! I am struggling to get the right hand injection quantity to the specified squirt amount per stroke. It's very low, somewhere around 0.3 ml c...

Re: Question on Sarran1955's twin solex carb tuning video
Thanks for replies. Sorry, not the idle enrichment device but the block screwed into the side of the base of the carburettors. Looks like you have them on both?

Question on Sarran1955's twin solex carb tuning video
Hello, I've just been watching the excellent video Sarran1955 posted on YouTube of the Solex twin carb tuning. I was wondering what the part is that looks like some sort of oblong-shaped cover screwed onto the outside of the throttle body at the base of the carbs and looks like some kind of blanking...

Re: Knock, knock, who's there?
Bloody heck I bet that was an experience and a half, not exactly a roadside fix! Well my engine was only rebuilt 5500 miles ago, admittedly by myself and I'm just a hobbiest, but hopefull none of the parts should be that worn out yet.

Re: Knock, knock, who's there?
Hi Dave, no I don't think so. I've been round all the nuts (cyl head, heat exchangers, gear box bolts, manifolds etc) definitely need to change the oil as when I topped up the level I noticed it was a bit emulsified under the cap. I'm hoping that will make a bit of difference. As I said I adjusted t...

Re: Knock, knock, who's there?
Good question, before I owned the van. When I overhauled the engine I replaced like with like so stuck with the mechanical lifters.
