Re: How long to get half way on temperature gauge
I've got the feeling I'm running cold. Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the temperature gauge to go half way when driving? It should be within a few short minutes, and it shouldn't ever dip back below the normal mid point, wherever that may be on your van. If it does, or it takes ages to wa...

Rotate the seat to 45deg, remove the little plastic tang that might be in the front of one runner, then just slide the seat all the way out of the runners. Then rotate the swivel so that it's back-to-front.

Re: Water system not working
It appears the tap has a micro switch in it but to be honest I am not sure if it is working and what it is supposed to do, I mean when the tap is open does it rely on electricity to open something to allow the water through? I don't know if this information will make the problem easier to diagnose,...

Re: Fantasy Engine
IF we could get a 1000 people together with £5-10k each we could ask Porsche to supply 4 cylinder 2.4 litre wbx to current emissions, 200 bhp and an up to date ems, they already have the 4 cylinder design engine as they were expecting to have to use them in some markets in order to get their global...

Re: Is my split charge relay adequate?
the wiring connecting my batteries to the split charge relay was pretty shoddy (no fuse on the leisure battery, 20 amp fuse holder with 25 amp fuse on the main battery, badly crimped etc.) and after reading through the wiki I decided to replace it all. My relay is a Lucas 33441 33RA like this one h...

Re: Which battery is which?
The one behind the drivers seat (R/H/D) is the starter battery. On my Van (LHD) that's the leisure battery, my starter battery is in the Engine Bay Diesel starter batteries are in the engine bay, petrol starter batteries are under the RH front seat (whichever side the driver happens to be sitting -...

Re: Alloy width
I picked ups set of alloys very cheap, two are bored out to 62mm but they still won't fit over the front caps. Second issue is that they seem very wide, measuring a whopping 8.5 inches wide. The bolt face to rim is about 2.5 in, whileon the inside of the wheel, the rim to hub surface is about 6in. ...

Re: Engine oil query but not your usual.
instead of buying oil in the usual 5 litre containers, does anyone know if it's possible to buy larger volume containers (eg. 20 litres or more) from ECP or GSF? I can't seem to find the option but perhaps others can. Ta. Does it have to be from ECP/GSF? Opie do 20l containers, as do many other peo...

Re: Westfalia Battery Charging
I have a related question on this. Last time we were away the charger started to smell a little bit when on hookup (and was warm, but I guess that's expected to a degree) so we disconnected it to sleep. To be honest I had thought the black box was part of the Eberspacher heater until then :)...

Re: Mot Emissions
I also overhauled the Carb, a standard Pierburg 2E3, the auto choke was miles out of tolerance, I replaced it (I am almost sure the auto choke unit is now discontinued and unavailable), The pull down unit was completely knackered with a split pipe, so that was changed also. Fixing the cause, rather...

Re: Load rated tyre selection.
The size'll be marked on the rim itself - probably near the centre bole/wheel nut holes.what2d wrote:Much appreciated. Suppose I'll have to measure the width of the rims tomorrow and see what options that leaves me with.

Re: Load rated tyre selection.
Depends on the rim width.what2d wrote:I didn't know that 235 tyres would fit on the same rim as 205 tyres. Marvellous.
205s are the widest you can fit on 6" rims, and you need to go up to 7.5" before you can fit 235s. By 8", you need 215s minimum.
