Re: Mystery copper pipe…
Probably coolant bleed pipe 025121045E. It's a plastic pipe but I've seen some rust stained ones that look like a copper pipe.

That's the spring that should be inside the hub seal.

Re: Sat Navs - where to place on T25
I sacrificed my ash tray to provide an acrylic glass mounting point. Enough space there to accommodate a bigger unit without losing any visibility.

Re: Hesitation...again...
Had the same with mine for a long time. The problem would come and go, never at idle or high revs but always after changing gears at low revs while the engine warmed up. Eventually solved it by cleaning and lightly oiling the spinning weights in the bottom of the distributor.

Re: Why you should have air in your expansion bottle.
It is amazing how poorly the cooling system is understood. The outlet from the expansion bottle is situated at the bottom and the inlet at the top, the air remains trapped at the top. There is no way that it can be transferred to other parts of the cooling system and accumulate. The amount of air in...

Why you should have air in your expansion bottle.
I'm very reluctant to enter the air/no air in expansion bottle debate but: You cannot compress a liquid. With no air in the system there is no "give" and the expansion of coolant inflates the silicone hoses and expansion bottle. The system gets over-pressurised and the expansion bottle eve...

Re: L shaped coolant pipe
Ah yes, galvanic corrosion. Perhaps one could try fitting gaskets to prevent the metals from touching and not use seawater as coolant.

Re: Stubborn spigot bearing, any ideas on removing it please?
You have to remove the flywheel on a petrol engine in order to replace the spigot bearing. As you said: the spigot bearing diameter is larger than the opening in the flywheel. You probably pulled out the retaining ring that holds a felt washer in place in the opening.

Size = 5/16" (8mm) inner diameter. Make sure the specification is SAE J30R9 or equivalent. These days I'm more likely to believe it if printed on the hose. Here is some useful information on the types of fuel hoses. E D I T: I forgot to mention that the inner diameter of the hose between the fu...

Re: cam seal on fly wheel keeps wearing ? help ?
Flywheel must be installed in order to measure end float. Crankshaft oil seal must be pushed in all the way or else the flywheel will make short work of it. The outside of an original seal sits flush with the engine casing but a replacement seal has a different profile and is recessed by a couple of...

Re: What's this sensor?
The dual brake light switches with three terminals were only fitted to early T3's. They are connected in parallel (see Bentley) for switching the brake lights. The third terminal connects to the brake warning light module. If one of the switches malfunctions, the brake lights will still operate thro...
