Best spark plug socket
Just wondered if anyone would share which brand of spark plug socket you use? The reason I ask is that changing the plugs today with my draper 14mm plug socket, the damn plug kept falling out every....damn...time. Converting a 10 minute job into an hour. Anyone else have this issue or is there a tri...

Re: VW T25 Cu 2.0 fuel Line replacement
Thanks david, I assumed they were breather lines but no one seems to talk or state what size they are. The replacement kits do not cover them either, hence the post to check if anyone else had done this and could share?

VW T25 Cu 2.0 fuel Line replacement
My van has been laid up for 6 months or so. I came to start her up and she’d start but not run unless I kept my foot on pedal, even after a few minutes of warming up. So I came to figure a service/ tune up needed. In the engine bay I noticed the hose under the right carb into the manifold/ return li...

Front seat belt replacement
Hi guys, I’ve got a 1982 van that has just failed MOT on its front seat belt. Basics it’s locked and won’t move. Just to get it through the test, what other makes/models of car can I use to replace the belt? The local breakers yard won’t give advice (run by kids.... the computer says no....). I’ll g...

Re: RM122 - 3 ways fridge woes
I haven’t checked the position of the burner, the gas engineer did pass compressed air over it. I’ll give it a try and check position of the burner too.

Re: Viking Roof - Closing with cushions...
Just as another handy hint for getting the roof to shut on cold/ cooler days with viking roofs- i use a little fan heater and direct it at the canvase to dry it out from condensation etc but it also makes the canvase fold very easily and the whole roof can shut in ultra quick time. Without the heat ...

Re: Headlight upgrade
Thanks for replies, certainly food for thought on the LED VS HALOGEN debate. I have an 1982 van with round SA spec grill with the extra two light on main beam. After following a few links from the you tube from Covkid I've come across these units for land rover. They are 7" and upon first glanc...

Re: strange reading on battery
Hi guys, just thought to post an update on this issue. Basically it was the 'maintence free' battery - probably a dead cell as when swopped with a new one problem solved....well kind of. The voltage stablised but was a little low - 13.8 to 14v. So i decided to take a look at the voltage regulator as...

Re: strange reading on battery
Kev - where would a voltage regulator live in the van/ engine bay?? is there a simple test i can perform on it to diagnose it with a multimeter? ok - quick google check (i was being lazy) - its on the alternator. i'll check if its a bosch - they seem to be about £4-£8? sound about right? Still is th...
