thanks for that i will take mine off tonight to see if it is the same as brickwerks its a cheaper fix worth a try first

its not charging i put a meter on it and the voltage dropped below to 11.2 when it was running it was 12.4before it started after being on a battery charger all night

need a new alternator for a1.6 jx td  westy cali does anybody no the best website to get one from

I have the  same problem  on my 89 westy cali checked voltage on the alternator its charging ok fitted a new leasure battery but the light still comes on.if  anybody can come up with any suggestion that would be great.

panic over i found the 6mm rubber 90 degrees elbow on top of the actuator had split into two, so i put a temporary bit of 6mm rubber pipe on and the turbo is working again. cheap fix

Thanks for the reply it is a full afn conversion with ecu etc i will check everything you have told me to check .Is the vnt15 a standard turbo that would be fitted to a vw passat or audi a4 so if it is the turbo i can buy one .

I've got a 1989 tdi vw afn 1.9 conversion on my bus and i pretty sure the turbo has just give up .I've seem to have lost a lot of power ,its running ok but with no power . i can not here any turbo whistle when i rev it as well .just wanted to know is changing the turbo an easy job any tips etc .can ...

just wondered if everybody who owns a westy cali has really loud squeaky suspension mine sounds like an rusty old spring bed always has done just wondered if there is a cure would power flex bushes make her quiet down

cheers I've ordered a new hose off eBay just wondered is there any more benefit using silicone hoses as they seem to be more expensive

just been poking about the engine bay and spotted a split in a hose that comes from the turbo to the intercooler about 50mm in diameter there is a lot of oil all around it could this be my problem

so if i buy a code reader off eBay are they ok. also will it come up with a code if the maf is not working. also where is the best site to get the codes from

I've just came back from spain in my westy with a afn t.d.i conversion which I've had for four years with no problems until now.i was driving along when all the power and grunt went out of the van at first i thought it was the turbo so i checked all the hoses and pipes which were fine restarted the ...

cheers mocki took your advise took the bus for a ride and done a few emergency stop and the brake lights started working so well happy after all the hassle cheers

it didn't pour out just a trickle but then i was as quick as i could with the swap over of switches

can not figure this one out just fitted another two brake light switches this time from brickwerks and still no brake lights tried shorting the terminals and brake lights come on so bulbs are ok and the fuse any suggestion please
