Re: dreaded flashing red light
I'm no expert but the reservoir you are looking at is for the brake/clutch fluid, don't put coolant in it. Your coolant tank is in the engine bay, so check there first. One problem at a time, but yes the cap on your brake/clutch reservoir needs sorting too as that is the low level light bit on the c...

Re: leisure drive roof gas struts
I could just about compress the struts when pushing down on them on the ground, so with help from a mate I managed to get a strap around them when they were compressed a bit. It was tricky not to cover the socket bit on the end though. I then replace them one at a time, i actually used my waste wate...

Re: easy way to fix thermostate
Mines a different engine to yours but in the past i've used brake pipe clamps to clamp off the 2 main feed and return hoses for the rad.
This way you only drain whats in the engine and not what's in the long pipework and radiator.

Re: leisure drive roof gas struts
Hi Adam The 4 rams fitted on the roof are 2 different strengths. 1 weaker one and 1 stronger one at each end. They are measured in newtons i think, and are bloody strong. I used a nylon buckle strap to compress mine a bit when fitting them. I think mine were 270N and 400N if i remember correctly but...

Hi, I got all 4 for my leisuredrive roof from SGS engineering about 18 months ago. Just remember they are 2 different strengths.

Re: Radiator fan. 1st speed works, 2nd doesn't?
Are you sure it is a 2 speed fan? I've got an 84 leisuredrive and it's only got a single speed fan. Has the thermo switch got 2 wires or 3 going to it? I think i'm right in saying that if it only has 2 wires like mine it is single speed fan, it will also have a smaller fuse than the twin speed fan. ...

Re: Wiper arms go round and round
My wiper arms had a habit of slipping so i put a washer under the nut to enable the taper to be a bit tighter. Has been fine since.
Good luck

Manual Cooling Fan Switch
Hi all I know this provokes mixed views but I want to add a manual cooling fan switch for peace of mind. I'm planning on piggy backing off the original thermo switch so leaving it in place, and was thinking of using a heated rear screen switch as my switch?? Would this switch be ok? I think the heat...
