That is some lovely work silverbullet.
How do you pick up the centre of the broken stud so accurately?

Bumper colour?
Evening guys
What would the original colour of the steel bumpers been on my 1984 camper. They are black but would they have been gloss as original?
Thanks Andy

Re: Engine starting after months. Just turn the key?
When I start mine after winter lay up I firstly charge the battery to give a good chance. Then turn it over until the oil light goes out. Then press throttle to operate choke, remove air filter and put a bit of fuel straight in carb. Then without touching the throttle pedal turn the key and let it i...

I wanted to do this once but didn’t end up doing it, but I was going to run it on a beetle distributor to make it easier to wire up.

Re: New interior ideas wanted
Iain
Hope you don't mind me asking but if you are removing an original Leisuredrive interior I would be very interested in buying some of your original door/drawer latches as i have some broken ones which i would like to replace.
I placed a wanted add a long time ago but got no joy.
Thanks
Andy

Re: Toggle Switch, Left Below Steering Wheel
If I were to have a guess I would go for a chicken switch for the fan, or maybe a switch for the stereo to run off of the leisure battery.
Have you looked to see if it is connected to anything or tried turning it on?

Re: Advice on fitting NLA cab hammock please
Thanks JonB I think I may be a little too low with my original figures as it is going to make it very close to not reaching the "b" pillar. I'm going to have a remeasure and drill the upper bracket hole first, at least that way i can move the bracket up and use the drilled hole for the low...

Advice on fitting NLA cab hammock please
Hi I'm trying to fit a NLA cab hammock and am unsure how high from the dash to mount the fixing brackets. I think I need to drill the mounts lower screw at 200mm from the dash (corner nearest the windscreen) but wonder if anyone that has one fitted could confirm for me or offer any other advice plea...

Re: I need a chicken switch
It was a long time ago but I think when I did mine I ran a bit of 2 core cable through the original grommet for the standard loom and connected it at the thermo switch using piggy back connectors. For a switch I used a heated rear window switch and fitted it where I had a blank in the dash so all lo...

There is a Karmann ghia in this months volksworld magazine that was restored by them some years back.
The article is full of praise for the work done.

Re: replace blue main bean tell tale light
I got one from my local VW commercial dealer about a year ago.
It was a normal bulb and came with the blue cover/cap also (which I didn't need as had the original).
I can't remember the exact price but seem to remember it was about £5 ish.
Hope this helps.

Re: Cant tighten altenator
Not too sure what an Aircooled engine alternator is like but could you just use a longer bolt and put a nut on it?
If so might be an easy option for you.

I think I used a pair of long nose mole grips just to be extra safe.
