Re: Time to
[quote="printmonkey"]It's loud but it does sound good, going through the Holmesdale tunnel on the m25 at 2am was interesting. You're right the engine does like to rev, it took a while to get my head around driving the van at higher revs. I'm not sure I'll risk 8k though! Not using the revs...

Re: Exhaust options for EJ20
I've got a stainless steel manifold from a subaru rally car mated to a Vectra back box mounted on its side across the back of the van behind the valance.
There was a little modification but not major. It is super quiet at idle but has a lovely note under power.

Re: Fueling problem and buzzing noise 2.1 injection
Thanks all. It's a Bilbo's conversion and as far as I'm aware it's the standard set up - certainly the pump and filter are as they were prior to the engine conversion. I've done about 4000 miles since conversion without issue. I know the tank isn't the best as it leaks if filled right up and I've be...

Fueling problem and buzzing noise 2.1 injection
I became aware of a buzzing noise the other day which sounded like it was coming from under the van. When I started the van the next day it was ok, but the buzzing returned after a few miles. I also felt it cutting out on acceleration until it got to the point that beyond the lightest of touches on ...

Re: Time to
Good Luck! I bought a 2003 2.5 Legacy for £625 and ran it for 6 months to make sure it was ok. The conversion was done over the winter and I put the van back on the road at Easter. It's a high roof van and if you worked the old 2.1 hard it wasn't too slow, but it wasn't a relaxing drive. Now I absol...

Recommended converter in Scotland
I've got a 2.5 Legacy motor ready to go into my 2.1 T25 and I'm looking for someone to fit it for me. My local garage will do it, but as they've not done one before I thought it might be better driving to someone who has experience of the Subaru conversion. I'm near Aberdeen in Scotland. I'll drive ...

Help - 2.5 Legacy Lambda Sensor wiring
Hi, During the course of removing the engine and wiring from my 2003 2.5 Legacy, the plug on the harness side of the lambda sensor went missing. Here is what Richard at RJES says... Looking at the wiring diagram, it’s easy to see how to connect up 2 of the 4 wires. However, the diagram does not show...

Fuel Injector 2.1 DJ
My local garage has advised I need an injector but they can't get one anywhere. I've tried and struggled too - any suggestions?

Re: which subaru ?
I think my 112 horses are a bit malnourished, so I'm sure the 2.0 would be an improvement. On the other hand, I'm unlikely to wish I had less power....

Re: which subaru ?
I've got the chance of a 2.0 but with a high roof bus I'm wondering if it will be lacking in power. Anyone done this and wished they'd gone bigger?
Cheers

Re: 2.5 Legacy conversion - done at last!
Definately going down the Subaru route as the 2.1 is painfully slow - I'd better start saving!
I was initially thinking just the 2.0, but perhaps that's not worth the bother???

What is this switch?
Any idea what this switch could be to the left of the power sockets? The wires disappear behind the side panel, so I'm not sure where they lead. I've seen the same on another Bilbo's conversion, so I assume it is a standard feature. http://i49.tinypic.com/j96p01.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/jsex4i.jpg

Re: T25 starter motor really slow
So the consensus is the bush in the bellhousing??
The van I've just bought does this. The starter barely turns but then the van bursts into life.
It's a 2.1 petrol.

Re: Is there any one out there with a Bilbo conversion?
I've just bought a 1989 Arragon 2.1 petrol and saw this old thread. It's a pretty solid van with a few areas needing tidied as they've been touched up in the wrong shade. The interior is a bit faded - any suggestions where I can get the front seats and bed recovered in grey cloth? The "camping&...
