Re: VW T25 Single cab pickup AAZ Exhaust

Hi , on my AAZ conversion I used the JX manifold and turbo so the pipe and JX silencer fitted and worked fine . The 1.7 NA diesel silencer may have a smaller diameter flange . :ok . Steve Heyes

No spark , digifant system

Hi folks, My MV engined auto van has just refused to start. Pulled a plug lead off , put a spare plug in the cap , placed it on the crankcase and got the wife to crank it over. No spark . Placed a meter between centre wire to hall sender and pos , cranked it over and volts fluctuated . Changed coil ...

Re: Radiator Fan Stopped Working

If rad is leaking then definitely renew it. Over the years they sludge up and loose efficiency, if you don't know it's history it could be over 30 years old with mixtures of God knows what having flowed through it . Brickwerks do them for about £ 160 but they can be found a bit cheaper if you shop a...

Re: Radiator Fan Stopped Working

Is there air in the cooling system , if so there may not be enough coolant flowing past the sender to turn the fan on. Is the red light flashing or steady. Steady red light is high temp , flashing is low coolant level. Loads of info on Wiki on bleeding the system.

Re: Fitted different exhaust and now got problems.

Hi folks. Just tested the lambda sensor output : 0.49 V with just the ignition on , started the engine and it started rising and falling from between 0.3 and 0.9 volts. Removed all the earth's that are close to the coil, none looked bad but cleaned them up anyway. Went for test drive and it just kep...

Re: Fitted different exhaust and now got problems.

Thanks for the replys, the van was running well before I changed the exhaust and that's all I have done. The old lambda was difficult to remove from the cat but appart from that the job went well . Just drove it 12 miles with lambda disconected with no problems. On starting up there is no change to ...

Fitted different exhaust and now got problems.

Hi folks I hope somebody can shed some light on this problem . The van is a 2.1 wbx mv with digifant fuel injection. Have just done away with the catalytic converter by changing everything from the cast knuckle onwards to pipe and silencer from a carb engined van. I welded a boss to take the lambda ...

Re: Radiator Thermo switch

No,never kicked in nomater how hot it got ,shorted switch out just like you have done and it still did not control the temp, the only thing that would bring it down was cab heat on full.Always ment to open old radiator up to see how badly blocked it was .Now it never gets hot enough to come on unless...

Re: Radiator Thermo switch

Hi Firkie,I had similar coolant issues on a JX engined van, going up long hills had to turn cab heater to hot and heater fan on 3 (full) just to keep the temp down. The rad was getting uniformly hot as you discribe and new switch and thermostat fitted,in the end I came to the conclusion it was the rat...
