Re: How to drain the diesel tank on a T25
Hello, bit of a bummer that! Where and how are you sucking the fuel/bugkiller from? where you fill the tank up from, not sure of the correct term. The hole you stick the fuel pump nozzle in. Is is quite hard to force the tube in, it seems to hit a wall of some kind, but with some repeated in and ou...

How to drain the diesel tank on a T25
Hi guys, been a while since have needed your help, but you haven't got rid of me that easy ;-) I managed to pour about 8 litres of diesel mixed with bug killer and other nasties into the van (who the hell would put that in a fuel container!) Anyways, I need to drain it. I have spent the last hour un...

Re: Smoke from left air vent (filter side) if engine under load
Many thanks. Will dive in this weekend and have a look. All sounds beyond me though.
From the way you put it, doesn't sound too serious. Just a leak somewhere dripping onto something hot.

Re: Smoke from left air vent (filter side) if engine under load
oh, and apologies for posting this before checking the oily air filter. Just got a few other issues (no internet in house, bike fell apart yesterday), is rainy season so the roads are a river of mud so is difficult getting to the internet. Thought would just post whilst I am here and see if any othe...

Smoke from left air vent (filter side) if engine under load
Hi guys, Took the daughter to school the other day which is at the top of a hill, not particularly steep, but an incline none the less (enough to stress out the 1.6t diesel - tbh what incline isn't enough to stress out the ol' gal). When I parked up, I noticed whiteish / grey smoke coming from the l...

Bleeding brakes when valve end rounded
Hello, Had a bit of an issue where the brake fluid was one day below the minimum mark. Couldn't see any obvious signs of leakage, so tried to fill up the reservoir and bleed out the air. Both rear values were slightly rounded and the oversized adjustable spnner I used appeared to do more damage. Now...

Re: Driveshaft bolts sheared off - transmission side
Hey Sharkjazz - I don't mean to come across rude - but You bought a T25 and seem to have not a lot of mechanical knowledge? I'd suggest a good few books - read all of the wiki twice, or sell the T25 and buy a bongo or something - I know you love your van, as we all do, but sometimes you have to cut...

Re: Driveshaft bolts sheared off - transmission side
maybe hours before the clicking and clanking starts I know that sound, don't worry. Horrible nasty fear enducing sound at first. I can now blend it out with all the other strange noises the van makes : Went through 3 driveshafts on this trip. One seemed to be killed by gunning up, quite possibly th...

Re: Driveshaft bolts sheared off - transmission side
Ouch. Cheers for the info. Shouldn't be too difficult to sort out as they have plenty of the Brazilian made T2 style vans here. Was made an offer of $5k for the van, which turned down at the time, but is looking more attractive, especially as the van is completely illegal here now unless can find so...

Re: Driveshaft bolts sheared off - transmission side
update. Got two of the stumps out with one stuck, it is sunken and seems to have snapped off smooth, no spur or anything can use to get it out. Spent all afternoon cycling around trying to find some bolts to use but to no avail. Will have to try the city, 3 hour bus trip each way. Additional problem...

Re: Driveshaft bolts sheared off - transmission side
Cheers guys. Will go have another look at getting the stumps out. Problem with driving back to our place is it is 1.5km down a dirt road where you have the obligatory speed bumps (think mini mountains) and speed dips, this along with the bumps, holes is probably the cause of the issue, so best not t...

Re: Driveshaft bolts sheared off - transmission side
DON'T drive on 3 The stubs come out easily ... without their CV joint there's nothing to be tight against Ian Ok. The van is in a place I can work on (ish), and isn't in such a dangerous place. At least it cannot be stolen and driven away lol But the window doesn't lock and the doors are easily ope...

Trouble going into reverse
so it never rains it pours. Going into reverse was getting progressively worse over a period of months and eventually it got to the point couldn't find reverse at all. Took the spare wheel off, the bracket holding the bottom of the gear stick area, the box around the gear stick area and had a poke a...

Driveshaft bolts sheared off - transmission side
Good morning all, long time not been here. Hope all are well. New problem. three of the six bolts / screws/ things that join the drive shaft to the transmission have sheared off leaving the tip in the hole. Problem is this has happen in a rather inconvenient place (as always) Question 1) is, anyone ...

Re: knocking cv joints - how long can I ignore for
Thanks for the help guys, the strange thing is the knocking is coming from the side that has been replaced twice in the last 6 months and definitely is full of grease, squeezing the rubber bits causes some grease to escape. I'll try and find some grease here and keep fingers crossed
