absent mindedness....
Anybody know where I can get front brake pad shims (1980 on Teves)? Took four pads and shims out and can only find three shims. I even emptied the entire wheely bin last night to see if I'd thrown it in with other stuff. Nearly two weeks worth of nappies in there so I'm a touch desperate.

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
anybody used it on the wheels and any tips for doing them? There are a couple of examples in the before and after thread but not sure if it is rustoleum on them. Mine look more than a bit shabby and I'm considering doing them with the same colour as the body but I'm not sure if its overkill. Its a s...

Re: Any good way to patch a heat exchanger?
a few years ago one of mine was like that - not quite rusted through all way around the flange though. If its just for getting it through the MOT then what you suggest might do it. I used good old exhaust bandage with added putty on top, it allows the flexibility to mold it a bit better. The repair ...

Just jumping on the back of this post - has anybody tried the retro fit flat wipers available from ebay? Worth the money or the usual pile of ebay..?

Pretty sure its a 14mm socket. You will need an extension but not all than long, there are plenty of things to get in the way - 6 in one should do it. From memory (which isn't very good these days), top left doesn't need an extension, top right does and so do the front ones? I'm sure somebody will c...

spark plugs
What are mine trying to tell me? Electrode very black with lots of carbon so its a rich mix/bad choke. On two of them the insulation has a black ring round the base and all have a sticky oily substance around the threads but not on the electrode. I'm thinking that this could be due to worn rings (pi...
